Ready to take ownership of a busy logistics operation?

Enjoy keeping shipments moving, stock accurate and customers happy? Looking for a role where your experience is valued, your contribution makes a difference, and you’re more than just a number?

We’re recruiting an experienced Inventory & Logistics Coordinator to join an established international freight forwarding and logistics business in Castle Donington.

You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where no two days are quite the same. Combining shipment coordination, inventory control and customer service with hands-on warehouse support, you’ll play a key role in keeping the operation running smoothly.

With around 80% of your time office-based, you’ll use Dispatcher WMS to manage orders, monitor stock movements and maintain accurate records, while working closely with warehouse colleagues to ensure everything runs like clockwork.

What will you be doing?

  • Keep shipments moving: Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries, liaising with customers and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Take control of inventory: Use Dispatcher WMS to manage orders, track stock and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Work as one team: Collaborate with warehouse colleagues on goods-in processing, stock checks and order fulfilment.
  • Solve problems: Investigate missing, damaged or incorrect goods and resolve stock discrepancies quickly and effectively.
  • Deliver great customer service: Keep customers updated, respond to queries and help ensure a smooth service from start to finish.
  • Keep the paperwork in order: Support logistics accounting and maintain accurate operational documentation.
  • Step up when needed: Provide cover for the Team Leader, support less experienced colleagues and help maintain high standards.
  • Get hands-on: Assist with picking, checking and other warehouse activities when required.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who knows logistics, enjoys taking responsibility and can balance the detail of inventory management with the pace of a busy operation.

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain or transport coordination, preferably at a senior or supervisory level.
  • A good understanding of domestic and international shipping processes.
  • Experience using logistics systems such as WMS, TMS, SAP or Oracle. Knowledge of Dispatcher WMS would be an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and good numeracy.
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure, work independently and support the wider team.

Nice to have, but not essential

  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • An understanding of sustainability and green logistics initiatives.

What's in it for you?

  • £30,000–£35,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am–4:30pm.
  • A role with variety, responsibility
